Dear My Family,
This website is a way for me to stay in touch with you. It’s a way that I can share things in the middle of the night without calling you up in the middle of the night to say, “I found a lizard in my shirt,” and have you say, “It’s the middle of the night.”
And yeah, I know that’s why we have emails and texts or, for that matter, any one of the many social media platforms. But, I don’t know, there was just something about creating a site that appealed to me.
(You’ll notice, there was no option in which I managed my compulsion, rather than acting upon it. Yeah…)
I’ve no idea if I will keep it up. I’ve no idea if you will read it. In a sense, it doesn’t matter. I will ride this wave of enthusiasm and joy while I can and, if The Dillydoun persists, great. If it doesn’t, also great.
Feel free to comment, or not. It’s a public forum so, if you would refrain from handing out my social security number or my bank account details, that might be nice. Other than that, let’s just see where the path takes us, shall we?
Love – Amy
Also, I didn’t actually find a lizard in my shirt. It was a baby, blue-tailed skink. (This is not my hand, btw. I flagrantly stole the photo for illustrative purposes. My baby, blue-tailed skink didn’t wait around for a photo-op.)
